Sophie Cosgrove

Sophie is a multidisciplinary artist living in Salford. To pay the bills, she makes coffee and a damn good flat white (if she does say so herself). Sophie is primarily a painter, but also likes to print using lino and illustrate. You’ll always catch her looking up at the sky and daydreaming, whether it be a cloudy day, blue skies or pitch black trying to make out stars in this ever so light polluted city. The sky is a constant. It’s something people can rely on. It calms and soothes, yet it can also be contrastingly terrifying. A void. For Sophie, dusk is her favourite time to look and the best time time to take a moment and drown out surrounding voices. The way the clouds fall against the sunset, colours start to glow and the moon makes an appearance. It’s a bit of Sophie, and she likes it a lot.
