Enjoy fun for all the family at this year’s Didsbury Arts Festival!
With more than 100 events and exhibitions packed into a fantastic nine days at venues all over Didsbury, there’ll definitely be something to entertain all festival- goers, big and small and most of it’s free!
Join in the opening celebrations at Fletcher Moss Park on Saturday 24 June (from 11 am) with live music on the terrace, art on the railings and art workshops. Add your voice to ‘Sing Didsbury!’ (24 June, 10.30 am) for a day of music-making led by choir master, Stuart Overington, returning to DAF by popular demand! No experience necessary – just a love of singing! Enjoy children’s story-telling, theatre, workshops and much more throughout festival week.
Explore the weird and wonderful world of Roald Dahl, loved by kids and grown-ups everywhere, through words and music. Celebrating the centenary of the author’s birth, the talented Magnard Ensemble will perform Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes to a musical setting by composer, Paul Patterson (29 June, 4.30 pm). Get ready to meet Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs and some Dirty Beasts!
Jump on board the Strange Train Company (1 & 2 July) on a magical, mystery tour in search of legendary, lost ice cream. Bring a picnic to Didsbury Park for a family- friendly afternoon of live music and entertainment, including dance, performance and street theatre (1 July, from 12 pm). And if that’s not enough excitement, why not pack a towel and swimwear and head down the road to Withington Baths (1 & 2 July) for an otherworldly light and sound experience!
